Cosy Beach Hotel Pattaya Review

One of the more popular South Pattaya Hotels, the Cosy Beach Hotel has just what you need for a quiet or romantic stay in Pattaya.  Located south of all the action on Walking Street, this hotel is located on a quiet beach.  Great dining, swimming pools, and tons of things to do are located close by.  It is close to the city and nighlife, but still quiet for a more laid back getaway vacation destination.

Room Accommodations

There are many rooms available at the Cosy Beach Hotel.  From a standard room up to a Mini-Suite with and Ocean view.  They offer double and queen size beds, so book accordingly when you reserve.

Service

The hotel is well cared for, but the newer wing is better updated and has seen nicer reviews.  The ocean wing is very nice.  There is laundry and money exchange services available as well as several others available to guests.

Room Rates

A great hotel for the rates.  Prices can vary from season to season but you should always find that this is on of the best cheap South Pattay hotels available. You can expect to pay anywhere from $40 to $80 a night depending on your travel season and room selection.  Very reasonable.

Summary

A nice hotel in South Pattaya.  Good value for the money.  A little bit off the beaten path for mongers or those wishing to experience the wild night life of Pattaya. Though it just might be well suited for those looking to relax and not be in the middle of things – yet not too far away either.

Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya Review

Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya Review

Overview
hard rock hotel pattayaThe Hard Rock Hotel in Pattaya is one of the prime places to stay on the beach.  Located between Soi 6 and 7 in North Pattaya, it is conveniently located a short baht bus or mototaxi ride from the heart of Pattaya Nightlife.  Although you could walk, the baht bus is cheap and convenient way to get around, and very easy to grab one in front of your hotel.

Located on Beach Road, you can walk across the street to the beach or just lounge around by the pool.  There are many amenities that you would expect to find at any Hard Rock, including the lounge, restaurant, and excellent swimming pool.

Room Accommodations
There are a variety of rooms available at the hotel.  The Superior and Deluxe are the most reasonably priced.  You can get rooms with queen size beds, but there are also those with doubles, better specify when you book.

If you are looking at something a little nicer, then the Kings Club rooms are for you.  They come with either a city or ocean view.

Like most Hard Rock Hotels, the one in Pattaya is also decorated in the the rock and roll style.  With large paintings of famous musicians as art work in the room.

Amenities

  • The Hard Rock Cafe is located on premises.  It has some good food, and live music in the evening.  A great place to grab some food before a night on the town.
  • There are also two other restaurants on site.  The Starz Diner which serves a wide range of food, and the Starz Deli, which has New York Style Deli food.
  • The eBar is located in the lobby and provides high speed internet for checking your emails.  They also have a suite of computer games available, but I’ve yet to meet anyone that has played them.
  • There is a pool on site that is quite large and what you would expect from any Hard Rock Hotel.  A pool bar is available to quench your thirst while sunning yourself in the warm Thai sun.
  • There is a well equipped gym for those that wish to get a little exercise while on vacation.  For those that would prefer to pamper themselves, there is a spa so that you can indulge.

Service
The Hotel is well cared for and provides daily housekeeping.  Laundry service is available for a small charge.

Room Rates
This hotel is a little more expensive than some, but you are paying for the name as well as the service and onsite amenities that a lot of other Pattaya Hotels don’t have.
You will find rates ranging from 3,200 – 5,200 THB Around Peak season or about $100 – $160 USD.

Summary
Overall a good hotel, although a little on the pricier side for my tastes.  It is a good hotel in North Pattaya if you want to stay a bit farther away from the nightlife and craziness that happens closer to walking street.   Though the craziness of Soi 6 is only a block away.

Areca Lodge Pattaya Hotel Review

Areca Lodge Pattaya Hotel Review

areca lodge frontLike the LK Renaissance, the Areca Lodge is centrally located on Soi Diana.  Easy walking distance or a short baht bus ride away from just about everything Pattaya has to offer.  It is located about half way between Soi Buakhaow and Second Road.   This means it has convenient access to all your needs, including dining, beer bars, movie theaters, bowling, grocery shopping, and entertainment.

This hotel is a little old, but definitely not out dated.  The last known renovations were done in 2002 and 2003.  It is a good middle of the road hotel for those that wish for nice accommodations that are not overpriced.

Check Current Rates And Availability

It has close proximity to beer bars and restaurants on Soi Diana, as well as the main entertainment areas of Pattaya.  The closest shopping mall is the modern Avenue mall just a short walk away.  Here you will find dining, shopping, movie theaters, and bowing alleys.  ATMs are everywhere in Pattaya, and you will find more than a few up the street from this hotel.  The local convenience stores like Family Mart and Seven-Eleven are also located close by in the Soi.

Room Accommodations

areca lodge executive roomThe Areca Lodge has several different room types available to guests.  They range from the Standard, Deluxe, to the Executive.  The rooms are nice and clean, and will pass muster for all but the most discerning of guests.

The standard rooms come with two double beds and no pool view, so are preference is for the deluxe or executive style rooms.  The bathrooms are western style with fixtures as such.

The Deluxe and Executive rooms both have a private safe, which is a must have for the travelers of Pattaya Essentials.  The executive rooms come with some additional features like a DVD player, hair dryer, bathrobes, daily newspaper and fruit basket.  The executive rooms are also quite a bit larger than their counterparts.

Hotel Amenities

areca spaOf note is the hotel has 2 large pools as well as a built in Jacuzzi.  It is nice for lounging around on a pool chair and soaking up some sun.
This Pattaya hotel has two restaurants, the Café de Blanc and the Bai Mai Kitchen.  You can get your share of Western or Thai fair.  Room Service is also available.

The Areca Lodge is kept clean and neat.  Daily house keeping of your room is taken care of.  They also offer laundry service, as do most hotels.  The hotel is secure, and set back a short distance from Soi Diana to give a little bit more privacy.

Room Rates

As with other hotels in Pattaya, the price of rooms is based on the time of year you are traveling.  Below are the average prices that you can expect to pay.  The range is based on room type per season.

*Note:  Directly booking with the hotel can be a bit of a challenge.  They tend to reserve rooms for web booking sites and often say they are full when they are not.  Plus, they may ask you to fax over your credit card information, which is unsafe and not recommended.  Use a reputable hotel site like Agoda.com for Current rates and booking information.

Low Season:   1,300 – 1,900  THB
High Season:  1,490 – 2,590  THB
Peak Season:  1,790 – 2,890   THB

These rates usually include a buffet breakfast at the hotel.

The Areca Lodge Hotel is guest friendly (LB friendly) and does not charge a joiner fee for an additional guest.

Summary

The hotel has decent accommodations and should be looked at for the mid-level to budget traveler.  They have made a lot of improvements over the years and the new construction project they have going on should move this hotel up a notch.

LK Renaissance Pattaya Hotel Review

lk renaissance frontOne of a group of new hotels in Pattaya, the LK Renaissance is positioned near the center of things.  Located on Soi Diana, about halfway between Second Road and Soi Buakhaow, it provides convenient access to all areas of Pattaya.  You will a have a short walk or Baht bus ride to bars, dining, shopping, and entertainment.

As one of the newer hotels in Pattaya as well as in the LK Hotel group, it is well appointed in style, a bit of luxury, and all things modern.  Plus the price is very reasonable for what you are getting.  It is one of the top hotels in it’s price range.

There are many restaurants and bars on Soi Diana, in fact there is a beer bar complex directly across from the hotel. ATM’s, Family Marts or 7-Eleven’s are not far in either direction from the hotel.

Check Current Rates And Availability

The Avenue shopping mall is a short walk away on Second Road.  There you will find a grocery store, restaurants, shops, movie theater, pharmacy, bowling alley, and the ubiquitous ATM’s that are all over Pattaya.  Convenience and luxury are too of the top selling points of this hotel.

Room Accommodations

LK Renissance DeluxeThe LK Renaissance Hotel has multiple room types available for your holiday; each is well appointed and comfortable.  You can book yourself into a studio, superior, deluxe or the one bedroom suite.  The rooms are decorated in a modern style and have a real high end look to them.  The linens and decorations make you really feel that you are in an exceptional hotel, which you are.

The rooms are quite spacious and come with a minimum of a queen size bed.  The bathrooms are new and modern with western style fixtures.  The only draw back we have heard is that the Studio and Standard rooms lack a stand up shower, and feature a tub only shower.  This isn’t a draw back to most of us, but the tub only shower has a handheld shower head that isn’t all that user friendly.  However if that is the only drawback to those two room types, it is pretty minor.

Non-smoking rooms are available.

Hotel Amenities
lk pool 3 The hotel provides free wifi service that you can access in you room.  It is fast and quite reliable.  It makes for a convenient way to check emails and stay in touch will on your vacation.

The hotel has a very nice pool, complete with a lion fountain.  The pool and the area around it is fairly small, but very nice and well laid out.  We’ve found that most hotels that are not a full resort seem to have similar small pool areas, so this is not a detracting factor.

There are a limited number of sun chairs, so depending on the time of year you go, availability may be hit or miss.  We’ve found that there is usually a few open thru out the day.  The beach being such a short walk away, most holiday goers would rather spend their sun tan time at the beach.

The hotel has an onsite restaurant, the Siam Bistro.  It serves a variety of western pub food as well as traditional Thai Fair.  Food is available to be delivered by room service if you like.  The food is quite good, and the price is reasonable.

The hotel also has a steam room and sauna available, as well as limousine and valet services.  These items have not been used by anyone at Pattaya Essentials, but if they live up to the standard of rest of the hotel, I’m sure they are equally as good.

  • The rooms are outfitted with large LCD T.V.’s (32”+) with a selection of local and satellite channels.
  • High Speed Internet Access
  • International direct dial service (IDD)
  • Voice Mail System
  • In room safe
  • Bathrobe and Slipper
  • Complimentary Toiletries
  • Hair Dryer
  • Coffee Maker

Service

lk pool 2The LK Renaissance Hotel is clean and well maintained all day long.  The hotel itself is well kept up, and they do the maintenance necessary to make it continue to look like the new hotel it is.  The security is good, though unobtrusive, which is nice.  You are safe and secure without an overshadowing presence.

There is laundry service on site, which is standard in most hotels.  You fill out a slip, put your laundry in a bag and it goes off to the cleaners with you house keeping staff.  Pretty standard stuff if you have been to a hotel in Pattaya before.

Although the LK Renaissance lists that it has limousine service, it does not seem to be easy to book a ride from the airport like some other hotels.  It is probably best to book your own taxi from Bangkok to Pattaya.  You can take a taxi from the stand outside Suvarnabhumi, or we have a couple of reputable car services that we can refer you to.

Room Rates

Lk Renissance bathroomAs with most hotels in Pattaya, room rates vary depending on the time of year you wish to go.  Below are the average prices you can expect to pay.  The range is based on room type, from Studio to Suite.  Current Rates and Booking Information.

Low Season:  1500 – 2700  THB
High Season:  2000 – 3600  THB
Peak Season:  2250 – 4050  THB

The LK Renaissance Hotel is guest friendly (LB friendly) and does not charge a joiner fee for the first guest.

Summary

The LK Renaissance Hotel should definitely be on you list of hotels to stay at during your trip to Pattaya.  The prices are not for the budget minded, however they are reasonable for the Mid tier to High End clientele.  The accommodations, service, and location are all top shelf.

The beds are firm but comfortable and provide a good nights sleep.  There is also a fitness center on the 7th floor.  It is small, but providers the guest with all they need to maintain a workout regime while at the hotel.

The pool is located on the roof and overlooks Pattaya Bay.  The pool is fair size and shallow (about 4ft).  Around the pool are a fair number of lounge chairs to lay around and soak up some of the hot Thai sun.  It is a great area for relaxing and enjoying the day.

Also on the pool level is the hotel restaurant, Cherry “On Top of the Bay”.  It is run by the same group that owns the well known Cherry Restaurant on Third Road.  Serving both Thai and Western cuisine it is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as providing room service to the hotel guests.  You can dine in the enclosed Air conditioning or enjoy your meal in the open air by the pool.

Service

The Pattaya Bay Resort is clean and well serviced all day long.  The grounds are well manicured.  The hotel is friendly and very attentive to the guests needs.  Daily room cleaning is standard.  The hotel offers laundry service for a small fee.  The guest fills out an item list, places their laundry in a bag provided for the hotel.  You may had the bag directly to your house keeper, or leave it for them when they come to clean your room.  In most cases you will have your clean and pressed laundry back the next day.

There is typically one or two door men on staff day and night that provide security as well as providing  tuk-tuk service to Soi Buakhaow or second road.  Though with the opening of the Avenue mall, the ride to Second Road is rarely needed.

This Pattaya hotel also provides rides to and from the airport via car service for a reasonable price.  They are private, modern cars, and are worth the money.  They will be waiting for you at the airport when you arrive, and depart the hotel on your schedule.

Pattaya Thailand Hotels

Only an hour and a half from Suvarnabhumi International airport, Pattaya Thailand is one of Thailand’s most popular travel destinations.  It has a mix of fun, sun, and nightlife that has garnered quite a reputation around the world.  If you want a destination where you can sit on the beach, lounge by the pool, see some history, and more beer bars and disco’s than you can handle you have found the right place.  Be prepared for some long nights and sleeping in late, it’s reputation for crazy nightlife is well deserved.  If you want a variety of hotels Pattaya has all that you need.   From discount to luxury, all tastes are catered to.

You can get a room right in the action, or at a more relaxing luxury resort depending on what your idea of great vacation entails.  Hotels in Pattaya can be found on almost any Soi, from small shabby guest houses on top of bars, to beach front resorts on a somewhat secluded beach.  You can also find hotels for all budget ranges.  Personally I like to find something in between. Some popular hotels are the LK Metro, Pattaya Bay Resort, and the Areca Lodge.

I prefer to stay between second and third road,  around Soi Diana and Soi 13.  It puts you close to the action, but far enough to have a little peace and quiet.  It also puts you a short walk to the Avenue Mall, where you can find a movie theater, food court, restaurants, small shops, and a grocery store.  A short walk or Baht Bus ride away you will find the Royal Garden mall or the Central Festival which has all kinds of great shopping.  All are very close to your Pattaya Hotel.

If you are looking for things to do during the day, most hotels have a tourist desk that will organize an outing for you.  This may include a trip to Nong Nooch tropical gardens, the Sanctuary of Truth, or the Sri Achi Tiger zoo.  It may be a group outing or a private tour, they will usually arrange the transportation for you straight from the hotel or resort, as well as getting the tickets.  Check with your hotels tourist desk for more information.

Finding a hotel in Pattaya in quite easy.  You can easily locate your accommodations by searching online.  You can use one of the many commercial sites or book with the hotel directly if you know where you want to stay.  I prefer to book online with the hotel.  They usually don’t require a credit card deposit, and will arrange a car hire to pick you up and drop you off at the airport.  Plus, there are fewer chances of mistakes when you deal directly with the hotel.

If you are looking to take your holiday to a fun and exciting place there are plenty of hotels Pattaya has on offer.  Just remember to book early if you are planning on going during the high season as they tend to book up.  I’ll be posting some reviews of individual hotels in the near future.
