Pattaya Thailand Hotels

Only an hour and a half from Suvarnabhumi International airport, Pattaya Thailand is one of Thailand’s most popular travel destinations.  It has a mix of fun, sun, and nightlife that has garnered quite a reputation around the world.  If you want a destination where you can sit on the beach, lounge by the pool, see some history, and more beer bars and disco’s than you can handle you have found the right place.  Be prepared for some long nights and sleeping in late, it’s reputation for crazy nightlife is well deserved.  If you want a variety of hotels Pattaya has all that you need.   From discount to luxury, all tastes are catered to.

You can get a room right in the action, or at a more relaxing luxury resort depending on what your idea of great vacation entails.  Hotels in Pattaya can be found on almost any Soi, from small shabby guest houses on top of bars, to beach front resorts on a somewhat secluded beach.  You can also find hotels for all budget ranges.  Personally I like to find something in between. Some popular hotels are the LK Metro, Pattaya Bay Resort, and the Areca Lodge.

I prefer to stay between second and third road,  around Soi Diana and Soi 13.  It puts you close to the action, but far enough to have a little peace and quiet.  It also puts you a short walk to the Avenue Mall, where you can find a movie theater, food court, restaurants, small shops, and a grocery store.  A short walk or Baht Bus ride away you will find the Royal Garden mall or the Central Festival which has all kinds of great shopping.  All are very close to your Pattaya Hotel.

If you are looking for things to do during the day, most hotels have a tourist desk that will organize an outing for you.  This may include a trip to Nong Nooch tropical gardens, the Sanctuary of Truth, or the Sri Achi Tiger zoo.  It may be a group outing or a private tour, they will usually arrange the transportation for you straight from the hotel or resort, as well as getting the tickets.  Check with your hotels tourist desk for more information.

Finding a hotel in Pattaya in quite easy.  You can easily locate your accommodations by searching online.  You can use one of the many commercial sites or book with the hotel directly if you know where you want to stay.  I prefer to book online with the hotel.  They usually don’t require a credit card deposit, and will arrange a car hire to pick you up and drop you off at the airport.  Plus, there are fewer chances of mistakes when you deal directly with the hotel.

If you are looking to take your holiday to a fun and exciting place there are plenty of hotels Pattaya has on offer.  Just remember to book early if you are planning on going during the high season as they tend to book up.  I’ll be posting some reviews of individual hotels in the near future.

  1. [...] You will find many places around Pattaya that will be willing to sell you a tourist package to bo visit the Tiger Zoo.  From touts on the street, to specialized tourist agencies, you can become inundated with offers if you look.  My prefered choice, as I have mentioned in other articles, is to book your trip through your hotel tour desk.  You can be assured that they are on the up and up, and will organize the best trip for you.  Typically this involves transportation from your hotel to the Tiger Zoo and back.  It is pretty much a full day trip, so be prepared.  The ride is short, 30 minutes by hired bus from your Pattaya Hotel. 2. [...] Finding a hotel in Pattaya is not a problem, the city is packed with them.   During the high season of November through February, you will need to plan ahead and reserve a room.  If you go during low season, most hotels will have some room available.  I prefer to book online, directly with the hotel if possible.  There are also a few reputable sites that specialize in southeast asia where you might be able to find a pretty good deal.  One site to look into is Agoda dot com.
